Shy Light

On a wall in an empty gallery space, a torso-sized pink spot of light can be seen. While drawing closer for further inspection to see if an object is there, we walk into the beam’s path. After a small pause, as if manned by the ghost of a theatre technician, the ray slowly shifts to find its own solitary spot, away from the observer. In a matter of moments the observer simultaneously becomes a performer–rejected by the spot light.
